Chelsey Taggart
DPT
Chelsey Taggart is the founder of ShoreFit
Training and Rehab, where she combines her deep expertise in physical therapy with a passion for personalized care. Originally from Monmouth County, NJ, Chelsey earned her B.S. in Health Performance and Fitness Management from Rowan University in 2016. She then pursued her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Kean University, graduating in 2019. After years of spending summers in Manahawkin with her grandparents, Chelsey decided to make the town her permanent home following graduate school.
Chelsey’s professional journey began in a busy outpatient orthopedic clinic, where she quickly recognized the importance of spending quality time with her clients to aid their recovery. Inspired by this experience, she founded ShoreFit in 2024 to offer customized physical therapy for individuals of all ability levels. Her passion for helping others drives her work, especially with clients facing challenges like Parkinson’s disease, post-operative knee recovery, low back pain, and balance impairments.
One of Chelsey’s most formative moments occurred during her training when she observed the almost magical transformation of a Parkinson’s patient using a specialized technique to improve his walking. Witnessing the immediate impact solidified her belief that she had chosen the right profession. Outside of her work, Chelsey lives in Manahawkin with her wife, Corrine, and their Goldendoodle, Colby.
